Illario Vuan, a designer and pioneer of colour TV in Italy, founded VDA in the 1980s. Hotel Master, a smart camera system, and pay-TV, were among the first successful products which would form the basis for VDA’s ever expanding product range. A decade later, Alberto Vuan established VDA Multimedia, and launched interactive TV, which was to be an overnight success. Since then VDA has introduced many ground-breaking improvements and developments, including the Active Power content distribution systems, the inclusion of Btinco and Active Platform 3, and Lisa, the first TV virtual assistant. In 2004 the new AD Lorenzo Baroni joined VDA Multimedia from the publishing industry. Lorenzo directed the development and advancement of interactive TV into today’s hugely successful and ingenious PowerTV system.
Recent developments include VDA’s expansion into Asian markets; the introduction of a new high-definition digital interface; new and innovative solutions for professional Digital Signage; and the Micromaster Glass collection, a triumph of elegant design and efficiency.
